What is the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program?
The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program is a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for Canadian immigration by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Applicants apply directly to Newfoundland and Labrador, and Newfoundland and Labrador nominates accepted individuals to Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for immigration.
To qualify for any Provincial Nominee Program, you must have the skills, education, work experience, and funds needed to settle in the province or territory of your application.
Newfoundland and Labrador currently has 3 immigration streams: (a) Express Entry Skilled Worker, (b) Skilled Worker, and (c) International Graduate streams. Newfoundland and Labrador is also a participating province in the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Who can apply for the Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker Program?
You may qualify for the Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker Program if you:
- have, or are eligible for, a work permit
- have a valid job offer
- have an Express Entry profile
- have at least 1-year post-secondary degree/diploma
- have at least 1-2 years’ work experience in the past 3-10 years (depending on profession)
- meet minimum language proficiency requirements (CLB 5)
- have a 67-points pass mark in the points grid system
Who can apply for the Newfoundland and Labrador Skilled Worker Program?
You may qualify for the Newfoundland and Labrador Skilled Worker Program if you:
- have, or are eligible for, a work permit
- have a valid job offer
- have at least 1-year work experience
- proof of language proficiency
Who can apply for the Newfoundland and Labrador International Graduate Program?
You may qualify for the Newfoundland and Labrador International Graduate Program if you:
- have a valid job offer
- completed at least half of your studies in Canada
- graduated from a 2-year post-secondary program in Canada
- have at least 1-year post-graduate work experience if you studied in another province
- proof of language proficiency
- are applying within 2 years after getting your degree/diploma
Can family members accompany the principal applicant?
Yes, you can bring family members that you declared in your Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NL PNP) application. These include:
- your spouse or common-law partner
- your dependent child (<22 years old)
- your spouse or common-law partner’s dependent child
- a dependent child of a dependent child
