Important Updates to the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program
New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) Notices
February 3, 2026 — New Brunswick – Due to reductions across Canada’s immigration system, New Brunswick is implementing a candidate pool system for endorsement applications under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). This allows for better management of our application inventory and for improved responsiveness to the provincial labour market needs. Effective February 3, 2026:
- Designated employers and their candidates can continue to submit endorsement applications.
- These new applications will be placed in a pool.
- Applications in the pool will be selected monthly for processing.
- Selections will be based on provincial priorities, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Applications not selected will expire after 365 days.
Also effective February 3, 2026, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is temporarily pausing the acceptance of new employer designation applications. This pause will allow New Brunswick to reassess existing designated employers and evaluate priorities to ensure alignment with program goals and provincial economic needs.
Finally, also effective February 3, 2026, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) has paused or heavily restricted applications for the accommodation and food services sector (NAICS 72). Some retail occupations are similarly affected, along with some NOCs for labourers.
