What is the Northwest Territories Nominee Program?
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program is a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for Canadian immigration by the Northwest Territories. Applicants apply directly to the Northwest Territories, and the Northwest Territories nominates accepted individuals to Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for immigration.
To qualify for any Provincial Nominee Program, you must have the skills, education, work experience, and funds needed to settle in the province or territory of your application.
The Northwest Territories currently has 4 immigration streams: (a) Skilled Worker, (b) Express Entry, (c) Critical Impact Worker, and (d) Entrepreneur Streams.
Who can apply for the Northwest Territories Skilled Worker Program?
You may qualify for the Northwest Territories Skilled Worker Program if you:
- have a valid job offer
- have at least 1-year relevant work experience
- meet minimum language proficiency requirements (CLB 5/6)
Who can apply for the Northwest Territories Express Entry Program?
You may qualify for the Northwest Territories Express Entry Program if you:
- filed an application under the Express Entry System
- meet all the requirements of the Skilled Worker Program
Who can apply for the Northwest Territories Critical Impact Worker Program?
You may qualify for the Northwest Territories Critical Impact Worker Program if you:
- have a valid work permit
- have a valid job offer
- have at least 6 months’ relevant work experience
Who can apply for the Northwest Territories Entrepreneur Program?
You may qualify for the Northwest Territories Entrepreneur Program if you:
- have a net worth of $250,000-500,000
- invest $150,000-$300,000
- submit a good faith deposit of $75,000
- have at least 1/3 ownership in the business or invest $1,000,000 (if not fully-owned)
- meet minimum language requirements (CLB 4)
- have the necessary experience and education
Can family members accompany the principal applicant?
Yes, you can bring family members that you declared in your Northwest Territories Nominee Program application. These include:
- your spouse or common-law partner
- your dependent child (<22 years old)
- your spouse or common-law partner’s dependent child
- a dependent child of a dependent child
